Is there a MOMS Club website?
What types of activities does the MOMS Club get involved in?
We hold weekly activities that are open to all members, which are posted on our Meetup site. All members are welcome to add events that interest them. We also have weekly playgroups during the school year with smaller groups of kids. Each month we have a MOMS night out, so we can socialize with the other moms in the group. We also have Helping Hands, which is a program to assist members after the birth of a baby or other family events by providing meals. Each month we have a Members’ Meeting, where we discuss chapter business. Our chapter also has several community service projects each year.
If I join the MOMS Club, what is my role?
You can participate as much as you choose. Some members may attend several activities every week, where others may choose to only attend an event once or twice a year. The beauty of MOMS Club is that you can participate as much as you want to get the most out of the club for you and your child(ren).
Do my children have to be a particular age for me to join MOMS Club?
No. We welcome moms with children of all ages.
Does it cost me money to join MOMS Club?
We pay the International MOMS Club Corporation $2 per member per year to maintain our charter. In addition, your dues pay for general supplies needed to run the chapter, Meetup, and some service project costs. Since we are a non-profit group, we can spend very little on parties, etc. and thus must rely on our membership to donate time and most of the supplies for gatherings or to help with fund-raising events to raise the money for special events.
How are food allergies handled?
Because several of the members’ children are allergic to peanuts, our chapter has a strict no peanuts policy. If you are bringing food to an activity or hosting an event, please make sure you do not bring/make anything that contains peanuts or peanut butter. This ensures all children remain safe. If your child has other food sensitivities, please let us know.
How are members communicated with?
Each month we have a newsletter with a message from the president and information about upcoming events. Our calendar is available on our Meetup group. We also have a Facebook group that allows you to stay connected with your MOMS Club friends.
What is the purpose of the monthly Members’ Meeting?
Members’ Meetings provide a time for the whole group to get together. We make these meetings fun, often exploring a new park or occasionally having a guest speaker. We also go over chapter business at these meetings, we discuss and vote on service projects, fundraising activities, and any other business that affects the club.
How can I join a playgroup?
Playgroups are a fun way for moms and children to get to know each other on a smaller scale. Playgroups consist of a small group of moms who get together on a weekly basis at each other’s homes. These groups run during the school year.
What is MOMS Night Out?
Moms need a night out now and then, so we work to coordinate a monthly outing. This is done during the week and it is generally at a restaurant or at another member’s home. This is a great way to relax and get to know the other members a little better.
What is Helping Hands?
Helping Hands is a way for MOMS Club members to help other members when they have new babies, illnesses in the family, or whenever they feel they need help. Most often it involves bringing a meal to the home of the member who needs assistance.
Is the club involved in any community service projects?
One of the goals of the MOMS Club is to perform at least one charitable, humanitarian or social welfare project related to children each year. See Service Projects for more information.
